
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Atlantic Affiliate championship action started on Feb. 27, delivering a host of competitive matchups across multiple divisions, showcasing strong goaltending, timely scoring and postseason intensity.
In the Tier-I Girls 16U division, the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers skated to a disciplined 2–0 victory over the New Jersey Colonials at Ice Line. The Jr. Flyers struck twice in the second period, with Ashlyn Jacobs opening the scoring and Lauren Steward adding another to secure the win. The Jr. Flyers’ defense and goaltending were sharp all afternoon, holding the Colonials to 42 shots but keeping them off the scoreboard entirely.
The closest contest of the day came in Tier-II Girls 14U division at Hatfield Ice, where the Colonials edged the Philadelphia Little Flyers Black 1–0 in overtime. Megan DeCroix netted the game-winner at 8:57 of OT, assisted by Ryleigh Macsweeney, capping a defensive battle defined by strong goaltending and limited scoring chances.
In Tier-I Youth 13O action at Ice Line, the Philadelphia Little Flyers rallied for a 4–3 win over Wolfpack Hockey Club in a fast-paced game featuring momentum swings and clutch finishing. The Little Flyers built offense across all three periods, including third-period goals from John Caiazza and Jack Piccolo that proved decisive. Wolfpack pushed back with three goals of their own, but the Little Flyers held firm in the closing minutes to secure the victory.
Across all divisions, the day’s games reflected the hallmarks of district playoff hockey–tight margins, strong defensive structure and players rising to the moment. With teams battling for advancement and championships on the line, performances like these highlight both the competitiveness and the continued development of players throughout the district.
