
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The season has come to a close for girls hockey in the Atlantic Affiliate, with six champions crowned across Tier-I and Tier-II divisions at Ice Line this past weekend. The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers swept the Tier-I categories, and the Princeton Tiger Lilies and Jr. Flyers carried the Tier-II ages.
Girls hockey continues to be one of the fastest growing sports across the nation, and in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania clubs have seen a similar trend. Events like the national-bound tournament at Ice Line and affiliate championship at Ice Vault in Wayne are a growing effort to establish parity between opportunities for youth and girls teams.
While competition was at the forefront of these tournaments, teams had a chance to showcase that the Atlantic Affiliate is a well-established footprint for girls to develop their skills, enjoy the game and advance to collegiate hockey.
At Ice Line, the following teams were crowned champions:
- Tier-I 19U – Philadelphia Jr. Flyers
- Tier-I 16U – Philadelphia Jr. Flyers
- Tier-I 14U – Philadelphia Jr. Flyers
- Tier-II 19U – Princeton Tiger Lilies
- Tier-II 16U – Philadelphia Jr. Flyers
- Tier-II 14U- Philadelphia Jr. Flyers
At Ice Vault, the following teams hoisted the championship banner:
- Tier-I 12U – New Jersey Colonials
- Tier-II 12U – Philadelphia Little Flyers
In the Tier-II division, the following finalists will also advance to USA Hockey Nationals:
- 19U – Philadelphia Jr. Flyers
- 16U – Philadelphia Little Flyers
- 14U – Philadelphia Little Flyers
